New Orders for Biwater South Africa

During December 2005 and January 2006, Biwater South Africa (Pty) Ltd has received 4 new orders for work in its home market amounting to 37.1 m.

Potsdam
The largest of these is for an 18 Ml/d Mechanical and Electrical contract at Potsdam in the Cape. The project consists of a raw water pumpstation, a biological reactor compete with ten aerators ranging in size from 55 kW to 110 kW, twelve mixers, recycle pumps, DO measurement and control. There are four clarifers each having a diameter of 35 m as well as a return activated sludge pumpstation. The contract duration is 12 months and it has a value of R25.2 m.

Johannesburg NorthJohannesburg North
Having completed in December 2005 an R11 m contract to supply 4 belt presses and other associated work to Johannesburg North Sludge Dewatering Works, Biwater South Africa has now received an order for 2 further belt presses worth 3.9 m.

The mechanical and electrical portion of the works consists of two units 2,2 m wide including polymer dosing systems.

Waterval Diffused Air Flotation
Biwater South Africa (Pty) Ltd has received an order to the value of R2.8 m for the mechanical portion of the works at Waterval.

The plant consists of two 14.5 m DAF tanks complete with all mechanical internals, pumps and pipework, Olifantsvlei Aerationcompressors and small bore pipework.

The contract is to be completed in eight and a half months.

Olifantsvlei Aeration
At Olifantsvlei in Gauteng, Biwater South Africa (Pty) Ltd has received an order to the value of R5.2m for mechanical and electrical works.

The project consists of eight aerators ranging in size from 22 to 55 kW, six mixers and four screw pumps drive units, instrumentation and civil works.

The contract duration is eight months.
